Our mission from the very beginning has been to be a though-leader in natural and organic skincare, meaning Sustainable & eco-friendly, safe, cruelty-free, transparent.

SUSTAINABLE AND ECO-FRIENDLY

Waterless beauty:

We DO NOT use any plain water in our products.

At Henua, we don’t use plain water in our skincareAccording to WWF no later than in a year of 2025 two third of a population of the world is suffering from the lack of clean drinking water, so cosmetic Industry should consider this serious issue while developing new products. We have replaced regular water in our products with e.g. natural Finnish birch sap. This nutrient and vitamin rich elixir is at the heart of our skincare philosophy of utilising only the most potent natural ingredients. So not using plain water is not only ecological but also very beneficial for the skin.

Recyclable:

Our glass bottles are 100% recyclable. Remove the cap/spray/pump/dropper (and toss them away). Rinse bottles and recycle! Our secondary packaging is made of recycled cardboard. You can also re-recycle that.

SAFETY

Each product has gone through dermatologist, safety and stability tests.

Certifications:

Our products has Ecocert Cosmos Organic certification.

ECOCERT evaluates the raw materials used in our formulas to ensure ingredients are derived from renewable resources, manufactured by environmentally friendly processes, and are free from GMO and synthetics, evaluates our packaging to ensure it meets their biodegradable or recyclable criteria. Ecocert is globally recognized as the leader in natural and organic cosmetic certification, and was the first to develop standards for natural and organic cosmetics.

Europe’s leading natural cosmetic certifiers came together and formed a non-profit association, COSMOS-standard AISBL. The COSMOS-standard association consists of five founding members who now authorise and oversee the certification, including the Soil Association (UK), Ecocert (France), Cosmebio (France), BDIH (Germany) and AIAB/ICEA (Italy). The main goal is to uphold the inspection and certification of organic and ecological products, eco-friendly systems and respect for the environment throughout the production chain. Today, over 1,600 companies, and more than 25,000 products sold into more than 45 countries are certified under COSMOS

Within this standard are the core principles of prevention and safety, reflective from the production of raw materials to the distribution of finished products which includes:

  • promoting the use of products from organic agriculture, and respecting biodiversity
  • using natural resources responsibly and respecting the environment
  • using processing and manufacturing that are clean and respectful of human health and environment
  • integrating and developing the concept of "Green Chemistry" instead of using petrochemicals
  • providing transparency for consumers

Promoting Ecocert Cosmos Organic
A beauty care product is COSMOS ORGANIC certified only if:

  • 95% minimum of the plants it contains are organic
  • At least 20% of organic ingredients are present in the total formula (10% for rinse-off products)

CRUELTY-FREE

Obviously. Also 100% vegan.

Henua Organics believes that beauty products should be cruelty free. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny approved. A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements.
