Henua Organics is a Finnish premium natural skincare brand founded in 2017 by sisters Jenni Tuominen and Anu Kohtamäki. “Henua” is an old dialect word from the Finnish region where founders Jenni and Anu grew up. It describes a deeply comforting feeling — being in perfect harmony with yourself and the world around you.

Henua uses skin-supporting Nordic ingredients such as:

Most Henua products are fragrance-free. THE PAUSE Bio-Retinol Serum contains a 100% natural fragrance blend, and Recharging Moisturizer contains sweet orange essential oil. Naturally occurring fragrance allergens are clearly listed in each product’s INCI.

Each formula is carefully developed to combine effectiveness with gentleness. As individual sensitivities vary, we recommend patch-testing a new product before use.

Yes. Henua products are highly suitable for pre-menopause and menopause, when hormonal changes often make the skin drier, thinner, more sensitive, and less elastic.

Are Henua products safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Yes — most Henua products are safe to use throughout the entire pregnancy and breastfeeding period. Below is a clear overview:

These products contain no essential oils or benzyl alcohol and use only gentle, pregnancy-safe botanical actives:

What is POD?

Perioral Dermatitis is an inflammatory skin condition that appears as redness, bumps, and irritation around the mouth, nose, or eyes.

Common triggers include harsh skincare, fluoride, synthetic fragrance, thick occlusive creams, and over-cleansing.

How should I layer Henua products?

Henua products are best layered from lightest to richest, following a simple Nordic skincare ritual.

1. Nourishing Oil Cleanser

Apply to dry skin with dry hands to dissolve makeup, SPF and impurities. Remove with a warm, damp face cloth.

2. Beautifying Toner

Apply generously to hydrate the skin and prepare it for the products that follow.

3. Illuminating Eye Serum

Gently roll around the eye area and pat into the skin.

Then choose one of the following routines:

Moisturizer and face oil

Apply Recharging Moisturizer, followed by Miracle Vitamin Oil as the final step to help seal in moisture.

THE PAUSE routine

Apply THE PAUSE Bio-Retinol Serum after Beautifying Toner as the final step of your evening routine. THE PAUSE and Miracle Vitamin Oil do not need to be used in the same routine.

Use Microbiome Mask after cleansing 2–3 times per week. Leave it on for 15 minutes and remove before continuing with the rest of your routine, or leave it on overnight as your final step.

Because Henua formulas are highly concentrated and rich in active Nordic ingredients, only a small amount is needed.

Can I mix Henua with other skincare brands?

Yes — Henua products are fully compatible with other clean skincare brands.

Because our formulas contain no fillers, no plain water, and no harsh synthetics, they layer easily and work well in both minimal and more advanced routines.

If your skin is sensitive, we always recommend introducing new products gradually so your skin can adjust comfortably.

That said, many people find that they naturally need fewer products once they switch to Henua.

Our products are designed to give your skin everything it truly needs — so while you can mix and match, you may discover that you simply don’t need much else.

Can I use Henua products daily?

Yes. All Henua products are designed for daily use, even for sensitive skin.

Can I use Henua morning and night?

Yes. Most products can be used both morning and evening.

For very sensitive skin, start slowly and increase frequency as your skin adjusts.

How long does one Henua product last?

Because Henua formulas are highly concentrated, only a small amount is needed with each use.

On average, a full-size product lasts approximately 1–3 months with regular use. Some products may last 3–6 months, depending on the product, the amount used and how frequently it is applied.

Usage may vary according to your skincare routine and individual skin needs.

Are Henua products suitable for people with allergies?

Henua products are formulated to be gentle, safe, and suitable for sensitive skin, but anyone with allergies should always review ingredient lists carefully — especially if you have known sensitivities.

Birch pollen allergy vs birch sap

We use birch sap, not birch pollen.

These are different substances, and birch sap is generally well tolerated.

We have not received reports of allergic reactions related to birch sap, but individual sensitivities can vary.

For safety, we always recommend doing a patch test before first use.

Nut allergies

Some Henua products contain plant oils derived from nuts, such as sweet almond oil.

Although we have not received allergy reports related to these ingredients, people with nut allergies should be cautious and review the INCI list closely.

When in doubt, perform a patch test or consult with your healthcare provider.

We make it easy to evaluate our formulas by:

• showing the percentage of natural and organic content

Are Henua products fragrance-free?

Henua products do not contain synthetic fragrances, artificial perfumes, or added colors.

Any scent in our products comes naturally from the botanical ingredients themselves.

Do Henua products contain essential oils?

Only one product in our collection contains an essential oil:

Recharging Moisturizer

This formula includes a small amount of sweet orange essential oil — chosen specifically for its holistic, mood-lifting aromatic benefits.

The level is gentle, skin-safe, and aligned with our Nordic wellness philosophy.

All other Henua products

• contain no essential oils
• rely solely on the natural aroma of the ingredients
• are suitable for sensitive or reactive skin

We also avoid harsh allergens, unnecessary aromatic compounds, and anything that could irritate delicate or compromised skin.

Henua’s approach is simple:

pure, clean, transparent formulations without synthetic perfume or artificial colorants — ever.

Are your products gluten-free?

Yes — all Henua products are naturally gluten-free.

We do not use gluten-containing ingredients such as wheat, barley, or rye in any of our formulations.

However, as with all skincare, people with severe gluten sensitivities or celiac disease should remember that:

• skincare is not ingested, and therefore gluten is generally not a concern

but skin-contact sensitivities vary individually.

Does oat oil contain gluten?
Is it safe for people with gluten sensitivities?

Yes — oat oil is naturally gluten-free.

The gluten protein found in oats (called avenin) is water-soluble, and it is not present in the oil, because oils do not contain proteins.

The oat oil used in Henua products is made from the lipid (fat) part of the oat, not the protein-containing fraction.

This means:

Oat oil does not contain gluten

Oat oil cannot trigger gluten-related reactions when used on the skin

Oat oil is considered safe even for people with celiac disease or gluten intolerance

However, as with any botanical ingredient, individual skin sensitivities may vary.

If you know you are highly reactive to oats on the skin, we recommend doing a patch test before use.

Are Henua products non-comedogenic?

Yes — Henua products are non-comedogenic.

All the botanical oils we use have a low comedogenic rating, which means they are unlikely to clog pores or contribute to breakouts.

Our formulas absorb beautifully into the skin and support the barrier without leaving a heavy film on the skin.

As always, individual skin responses vary, but our ingredient philosophy focuses on clean, breathable, pore-friendly formulations.

No Plain Water — More Botanical Benefits for Your Skin

At Henua, we do not use plain water in any of our formulations.

In products that require a water phase, plain water is replaced with carefully selected botanical waters and Finnish birch sap. Our oil-based products are naturally water-free.

This formulation choice is both purposeful and performance-driven — and it is one of the reasons Henua skincare is so concentrated and effective.

How long do Henua products last once opened?

Henua products typically last 6–12 months after opening, depending on the formula. Although we do not use plain water, our products contain birch sap and other active botanical liquids, which means proper preservation is essential for safety.

We use only Ecocert-approved preservative systems to ensure that every formula remains safe, stable, and effective throughout its use — even for sensitive skin.

Our bottles are also designed to be airtight, helping protect the product from contamination, oxidation, and unnecessary air exposure. This keeps the formula fresher and maintains maximum potency over time.

You can find the exact PAO (Period After Opening) symbol on each product — look for the small open jar icon such as 6M or 12M.

Do I get samples with my order?

Yes — we always try to include a complimentary sample with your order.

Whenever possible, we select a sample of a product you haven’t tried yet.
