What makes THE PAUSE Bio Retinol unique?

Many bio retinol serums contain only one bio-retinol active. THE PAUSE is different. It combines three powerful bio-retinol sources in one high-performance formula — working together to support smoother, firmer and more radiant-looking skin without the harshness of traditional retinol.

Is this the same as retinol?

No. THE PAUSE does not contain retinol and is not a retinoid. It is powered by plant-based bio-retinol actives, particularly NovoRetin™ and bakuchiol, which support skin renewal through a gentler, skin-friendly mechanism.

Why is it called a bio-retinol?

Because it delivers retinol-inspired results using plant-derived actives. The formula is designed to support skin renewal, smoothness and firmness without the harsh effects often associated with traditional retinol.

Can it dry out the skin like retinol?

No. The formula is designed to combine renewal with nourishment. NovoRetin™ supports skin renewal without the dryness, flaking or irritation commonly linked to retinol.

Is it suitable for blemish-prone or acne-prone skin?

Yes. NovoRetin™ has been shown to help improve pore appearance, balance sebum and support clearer-looking skin. The formula helps reduce congestion while supporting overall skin clarity.

Does it clog pores?

No. The formula is lightweight and designed to absorb quickly into the skin. It is non-comedogenic and suitable for skin prone to congestion.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. THE PAUSE is formulated as a gentle alternative to retinol and is suitable for sensitive and reactive skin types.

Why does the product contain fragrance (parfum)?

In the INCI list, fragrance is declared as “parfum”, but in this formula it comes from a blend of natural oils and essential oils. It is included to create a refined, sensorial and luxurious experience.

Is it photosensitising? Can it be used during summer?

No. Unlike traditional retinol, this formula is not photosensitising. It can be used year-round, including during summer. However, daily use of SPF is always recommended.

Can it be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Yes. THE PAUSE does not contain traditional retinoids and is considered suitable during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
However, as the formula contains essential oils, it is recommended to begin use after the first trimester as a precaution.

Can I use it with other active ingredients?

Avoid combining with other retinol or retinoid products. It can be used with hydrating and barrier-supporting products such as moisturizers and toners.

How long does it take to see results?

Skin may feel smoother and more hydrated within days. Visible improvements in texture, clarity and fine lines typically appear within a few weeks of consistent use.
